Template

Call sheet template for small film and video productions.

A call sheet should give the team the practical information they need for the shoot day: where to be, when to arrive, what scenes are planned, who is responsible, what to bring, and what risks or constraints matter.

Call sheet sections

Production basics

Project name, shoot date, day number, production contact, weather, nearest hospital, and emergency notes.

Schedule

Names, roles, call times, contact details, and any special notes for the day.

Scenes and shots

Safety and continuity

Risk notes, permits, releases, continuity concerns, and changes from the previous plan.

Lean call sheet example

Project: Rooftop short film

General call: 3:00 PM. Sunset target: 7:42 PM.

Location: Rooftop parking structure, west entrance, load-in through service elevator.

Scenes: Scene 4 rooftop goodbye, Scene 5 elevator exit pickup.

Priority: Clean dialogue coverage before sunset, insert shots after meal break.

Safety: No crew near edge without producer approval. Wind audio backup required.

Pair this with the shot list template before sending the final shoot-day plan.

Keep the call sheet tied to the production plan.
